IPL ( Intense Pulsed Light ) produce a very bright flash made up of a broadband of wavelengths usually from around 400nm through to 1200 nm which stretches all through the visible spectrum into the infrared. Due to the whole visible spectrum being covered IPL Safety Glasses need to cut down the visible spectrum and therefore can be quite dark to look through.
IPL Safety Glasses come in three shade levels. Shade 2 is the lightest shade so are the easiest to see through however they also offer the lowest level of protection. Examples of Shade 2 IPL safety glasses are LG-011L and LG-011NL shown in the below links.

The next level up are Shade 3 IPL Safety Glasses such as the LG-011, LG-011N and LG-011FWM shown below. These are the mid shade so offer a balance of protections and visibility.
