1080 nm is a commonly used wavelength for lasers used in cleaning. 1080 nm lasers proiduce very high levels of power and therefore typically require laser glasses with an OD 6+ or OD 7+ Optical Densities and LB6 or LB7 L ratings. Another aspect of 1080 nm laser cleaners is that they heat up the surface material which then glows in teh visible part of the spectrum not related to the 1080nm laser wavelength. Therefore it is sometimes desirable to cut down this glow while maintaining visibility and protecting against the primary 1080nm laser wavelength.

The LG-1080 shown below cuts down 1080nm with an OD 7+ LB6/LB7 rating and reduces the visible glow by 55%.
