The colour of a particular pair of laser safety glasses doesnt necessarily have anything to do with the level of protection provided. For example wavelengths in the infrared range from 900-11000nm are outside of the visible spectrum and therefore a high level of attenuation can be achieved without impacting on the colour of the lenses. Therefore the lenses can be clear in colour. If however the lenses of the laser safety glasses also cover wavelengths in the visible spectrum 400-700nm then they will have colour. For example if they cut down red laser wavelengths the lenses required to do this have a blue or green lens colour or for green laser wavelengths such as 532nm the lenses normally have an orange colour lens.
